Where do you feel most free?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 01, 2009:
I think I feel most free in a natural environment, in nature. I feel less free in a city environment, where there are high income needs just to exist in some sort of comfort.
That said freedom is a state of mind, and I would relinquish some freedoms for a higher cause, that would be my choice, and the ability to choose is a very important freedom.

Nicely expressed!
I agree with Dave.
Freedom is self-actualisation whilst mere liberty is self-indulgence imo…..yr last 2 lines reminded me of sartre; 'we were never more free than when we were under nazi occupation.'

Dave, thank you.
John, nicely expressed too, and very true
I began nodding in agreement at the first sentence! Wonderfully put!
Hi Claudia, so good to see your warm prints around again, hugs.
Give me the open skies, rabbit and birdsong in the hedge, my garden to play in, and a few beasties to tend, and I'll hang up my traveling shoes and enjoy the freedoms of home. Thanks, Gael.
Hi Sandi, smiles, yes and with the beasties come responsibilities, yet we still feel free.
enjoy every bit of that freedom in the country gael :)
Lovely little post, Gael. We all need the natural green space with all its delights - the sounds, the smells, the silence, the colours. Nothing to do but just sit there and soak up its free gifts –and be free.
Hi Gael, that was exact and right to the point :) Thank you for reminding me to appreciate all that nature has to offer us :)
Hi Mimi abd Dione, as I see it, like all creatures we are a part of nature and have nature and the planet to thank for our very existence, it always makes me feel so very humble to be a small part of that, grateful that it is all so very unique, diverse and beautiful.
Gael, It's good to have a choice. On another level I think I would just as soon not venture behind the electric fence. I love the open natural spaces and share with beasties and green stuff everyday in every-way.
I do agree Gael we can see beauty wherever we are, if we choose and notice..
Living a simple life is so easy when you see the wonders..
I live in a city yet I am so lucky to be near beautiful nature parks, walks and lots of animals…
My humble back yard is my little haven of peace, many birds, insects and a great big sky…: )
Love and peace..
Fast dart, hugs.
i can feel the peace from here Ange!!!
