My family stretches to include All, it most needs peace, truth, love and compassion, but at the moment many are needy, wanting money, power, fame and material things more than generosity of spirit..My blood family are all well healthy and happy, not neccesarily materially well off but rich in the things that really matter

At the moment I feel i have enough commitments, can't stretch to more, when some commitments reduce then I will reconsider.

Mostly rather than share what I've learned, I try to learn what others have to share, I learn more that way, life is a continuous learning process.
Other than that I try to walk my talk and share when others ask..

Well I'm certainly not in the past or in the future so physically I am present, we don't have time travel ...... yet. What could possibly change that ?

We had gone to the beach for a day, my brothers friend Alistair came too. The boys were playing on a groin when a freak wave swept my brothers friend into the water. There was a strong current flowing which was dragging his friend out to sea, there was a life ring but we couldn't find a strong swimmer to take it out to him, everyone was panicking and almost hysterical, meanwhile his little head was bobbing smaller and more distant. I remember thinking please God, don't let him drown, we can't tell his parents he's dead, and immediately a thought entered my mind, run to the cafe at the entrance to the beach, I did and called out .....
Help, are there any strong swimmers here? An athletic young man came forward, he was the champion swimmer on the island of Jersey,, we ran down to the beach and he swam out to rescue my brothers friend. Alistair couldn't swim, to this day I wonder how he stayed afloat so long, he told us his Dad had said if ever you are in trouble hang on and I'll come and get you, he had just flailed around enough to keep him afloat. since then I have always had faith in the power of prayer.

The whole Universe, when I keep my eyes, mind, and heart open and am aware of life as it Is. If I open myself up to it, and forget about my own, petty concerns, I can learn something from everyone, every creature, everything I see. A lot is on an intuitive level
that can be verified later. There is so much wisdom in the universe.

I cannot bury my head in the sand, In my immediate personal life nothing comes to mind as troubling, but I am not an Island, I love my brothers and sisters, and there is much in the world that troubles me, violence, and genocide, freedoms curtailed, poverty,
‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing’
So for what it's worth I am battling peacefully to try and get these things changed on many fronts
I am troubled because there are children in the world who are prostituted, lacking education, starving, press-ganged into war, used for begging. - I shop with my principles, donate what I can, invest ethically with companies that don't invest in arms
I am troubled because our government has let us down,mp's greedily feeding at our communal trough: mp's allowing unsafe practise in the money markets, and debt to rise alarmingly,mp's spreading fear of terrorism while curtailing our freedoms in ever tighter control.( see my post in the lounge, I am not relinquishing freedom without a strong protest ) ) mp's pursuing health and social policies that fail to protect the health of the population including children. ( I am working on this one, on several fronts) mp's dragging their heels on global warming, not achieving targets, putting our very existence at risk, giving our children a hellish climate to live with and huge costs fot the future ( decommissioning nuclear waste is costly and hazardous, they will pay. The children are paying now with their lives, two children died of leukaemia in our village recently we have two nuclear power stations in the vicinity, doubling their proven 50% increased risk,( see the latest german research ) one nuclear facility here and one a short hop accross the channel.
I know the problems make us feel like burying our heads in the sand - but for the sake of our children, join me, do battle peacefully for a better future. We are all one, brothers and sisters, related, what affects one, affects All.

When younger I used to get embarrassed and flustered when complemented, but then I gradually came to realise that usually the one giving the complement often has the very
quality that they recognise and admire in another, now I accept gracefully and seing similar qualities in them happily return the compliment, phrased so it doesn't seem too copy cat. Children especially respond to positive strokes, as everyone does, if we see the best in another, it blossoms.

Natures weather, when Spring bounced in on time, not early. When summer was deep blue skies, dry not humid, sunshine gentle breezes and high fluffy white clouds, when Autumn was often an Indian summer that deepened into wet and windy dark nights and winter cold. Not so keen on the wet summers and hazy humid days of the greenhouse effect and mild winters when I don't bother wearing a coat. I guess that's why young people are sceptical about global warming now, this seems normal to them, they can't remember what it was like.

What I have not lost is a sense of balance, in one way everything that is in the past or behind me is lost; but there are two sides to the coin and within the loss comes new insights and learning - a growth extending my capacity for love compasssion and understanding that stays with me in each moment. As we lose so we also gain if we face the losses rather than run away from or avoid them. Tennyson's quote, Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all springs to mind, we can carry love in our heart from moment to moment, and it is inexhaustable..
