Happy May Day!
Mayday means the start of productive growth in the garden, today I am planting sweetcorn, interplanted with peas, that will climbup the stalks. I am trying to live simply and lightly on mother earth. i love my grandchildren and want them to inherit all that is good on this earth, that means forgoing the luxury of travel until we have emission free transport, I can live without expensive imports that are flown around the world causing more emissions and buy and grow local food in season.I reuse, recycle freecycle, renovate compost and share what I have and give away what I don't need for others to use.
The Green Goddess
I am primal thought. I dwell in the light.
From me the world of nature was disgorged.
Alone, I laboured long, great with child. became
the mother of you all. see, I am no shapely
play-thing. I have much larger proportions
those of immensity - for I am all that is.
I am in you - and you are in me. You feed
from my wide and generous breasts, drink
freely, nurtured on the rich bounty of my love.
I smile a benevolent beam of solar warmth
on my creations. See my face, framed luxuriant,
in the fullness of healthy foliage, fragrant
with roses and flowers in bloom. Birds,
butterflies and animals make me their home.
In safe haven they breathe my sacred breath.
You have my blessings in earth's fertility,
I have given all you need to blossom free.
I stand at the top of the tree of life. Listen.
Hear my love-song, feel the universal
beat and rhythm. I live in you - you live in me.
I can no longer bear to watch children starve
for lack love. Indifference and hate are scalpels
that dissect life's bliss. Children when you plant
a tree, choose wisely, think what you grow,
Plant only love. Relearn the cycles of nature.
Go deep within. to find the goddess
in you, her love will grow the heavenly fruits
of life in myriad forms and infinite variety.
The dove of peace rests in your hands, hold
it tenderly, know your greatest power - is love.

Beautiful, and awe inspiring,we have cleaned out the little plot of land in back, and Saturday we will start to arrange it. The goddess in me is gently whispering “this was meant for you”,i believe her now.
BB look for heritage varieties of seed, it will cost less next year because you can save seeds, I place tomato seeds spaced out on kitchen paper then allowed to dry, then next year they can be planted ready spaced in a sheet and covered with moist compost, this works for other seeds like marrow squash cape gooseberries too. Hybrids and F1 seeds don't reproduce true to form and tie you to the seed companies to buy expensive new seeds every year
Gaian Goddess of poetry, take a bow.. just beautiful.
I wish you much joy with grandchildren & garden green, green goddes.. tara <3
Zephyr Goddess of nature and wise truth,
what a wonderful way to be in May..
Bringing inspiration and a way for us all to be, living in harmony with nature, giving respect, love and balance..
Your little pearls of wisdom about the seeds on the paper took me back to when Dad used to do just that very thing..
This warmed my heart and reminded me of the joy of synchronisity, connection in the moment..
Nature is abundant, creating beauty and providing nourishment in so many ways, I am grateful for all she gives
and for this beautiful day..
Inspirational.
Tam and i forsook our share of the allottment this year cos of prioritising careers….we are wondering about that and may seek land elsewhere…I feel pulled to earth by what you write….careful with the sweetcorn cos it pulls lots of nutrients out of the sod, nyet?…but the peas shouldn't tax the soil overmuch, i guess….
I find it so hard to forsake my urge to travel and admire you for yr principaledness…Jon xx
blessing dear poet, and continued inspiration,
love,
CG
Jon, I have three big compost piles and chicken manure goes on that too so plenty of nutrients go into my soil, and I rotate the crops.
Tara, Thank you for such kind comments.
Ange, a beautiful day here too, and the bluebells are in flower, I remember my Dad saving runner bean seeds..
CG, how is your inspiration coming along for your new novel.
Zephyr your wonderful sharing gives me goosebumps! I feel myself going down down into the earth and moving with her … in that earthy, maternal and yearning sort of way …
You are a wonderful role model … I'm inspired to go further in my efforts to become less dependent on consumerism. You rock!
Peridot, thank you for stopping by and it's nice to know this inspired you.
Zephyr thank you for the heads up on the seeds I'm going to look into this :-)
